Driven from the principle that ‘Compassion Is Genius’, Re-Mind is a movement inspired by the true life experiences of Jerry and his family.

We All Have A Mission

Together we will help end the many stigmas of mental illness, improve the quality of life for millions of people, and have a world of greater compassion.

A BIG BANG

In 1985, Jerry was a healthy, twelve-year-old boy with aspirations of one day studying astronomy and making a career of exploring the cosmos.  When his school grades deteriorated, Jerry was taken to see a doctor.  What happened after that changed everything. The circumstances surrounding Jerry’s treatment brought the Lucido family to lose nearly everything. In just a few days, Jerry found himself facing a diagnosis of severe, early-onset-schizophrenia.

Jerry’s younger brother, Ezio was 5-years-old at the time. Ezio was witness to the alarming manner in which our culture and system addresses the challenges of Mental Health.

Ezio then became Jerry’s primary care-giver alongside his mother and continues to look after Jerry to this day.

NEVER FORGET

When Ezio was 9-years-old, he’d promise Jerry and his mother he’d dedicate his life to sharing with the world the truth of what Jerry and his family have experienced.

Memories like this image of Mama holding Jerry in the hospital years earlier have never left Ezio.

THE VISION
While a senior in high school, Ezio realized the most effective way to tell Jerry’s story, while also being able to look after him was to tell it as a motion picture.

It was at this time that Ezio decided to become a filmmaker and the original treatment for the film was created.

Though the story has evolved, the original vision remains intact.
1998
THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Ezio founded Luminous Pictures in the garage of his home.

Unable to relocate the family, attend college or risk having Jerry live in an unsafe community elsewhere, Ezio would teach himself all he could about film making while looking after his brother.

It was here and at this time that the original vision for 'Jerry of Jupiter' as it is today was conceived.

MORE THAN A STORY
Ezio begins writing "Jerry of Jupiter" the screenplay and conceived of the movement now known as, The Re-Mind Project.

With Jerry by Ezio's side, Ezio would write thousands of script pages to navigate the labyrinth of Jerry's mind and merge Jerry's spirit into a cohesive narrative.
"What happened to my brother was like a hurricane, a tornado, an uncontrollable act against him and my family. I remember watching my family fall into a belief that we are helpless in this world. And I can't blame them

However, this is exactly why our response has to be transformative in positive, meaningful ways for others. And it has to be huge like Jupiter."

AN ONGOING STRUGGLE
On this day, Jerry nearly passed away from the adverse effects of stigma, prompting Ezio to begin filming and capturing Jerry more intently.

After returning home from the hospital, Jerry and Ezio continued their quest to finish his film in time for the world to witness Jerry see it.
THROUGH THE YEARS

Surviving numerous close-calls where Jerry would be returned to the mental institution or worse, Ezio and Jerry would work on the dream of telling his story together.

The cost of inappropriate care can be heavy.

Every day is a struggle. But the dream of the film and the opportunity to share his truth and spirit has kept Jerry going.

VALIDATING EVIDENCE
Ezio discovers new, validating evidence of Jerry’s unfortunate circumstances in 1985.

He incorporates the new evidence into the screenplay finally completing an 8-year writing journey.
TODAY
As the journey continues, so does the care of Jerry. Putting everything on the line, Ezio and family continue to care for him while working towards helping make these impossible dreams come true.

Jerry seeing his story told would be the ultimate triumph and make the ultimate impact for millions and millions of people.
