HAVe A MORE ACCEPTING WORLD

In 1985, Jerry was a healthy, twelve-year old boy with aspirations of one day studying astronomy and making a career of exploring the cosmos.  When his school grades deteriorated, Jerry was taken to see a doctor.  What happened after that changed everything.

The circumstances surrounding Jerry’s treatment brought the Lucido family to lose nearly everything. In just a few days, Jerry found himself with a diagnosis of severe, early-onset-schizophrenia.

Jerry’s younger brother, Ezio was 5-years-old at the time. Ezio was witness to the alarming manner in which our culture and system address the challenges of Mental Health.  Ezio became Jerry’s primary care-giver alongside his mother and continues to look after Jerry to this day.

1989

When Ezio was 9-years-old, he’d promise Jerry and his mother he’d dedicate his life to sharing with the world the truth of what Jerry and his family have experienced.

1997

While a senior in highschool, Ezio realized the most effective way to tell Jerry’s story, while also being able to look after him was to tell it as a motion picture.  It was at this time that Ezio decided to become a filmmaker and the original treatment for the film was created.  Though the story has evolved, the original vision remains intact.

1998

Ezio founded Luminous Pictures in the garage of his home.  Here, he would teach himself all he could about film-making while looking after Jerry.  Surviving numerous close-calls where Jerry would be returned to the mental institution or even passed away, Ezio and Jerry would work on the dream of telling his story together.

Eventually the focus on film would evolve into an elaborate company, Luminous Media Group, with experience and abilities in marketing, music and messaging.

2007

Ezio begins writing Jerry of Jupiter the screenplay and conceives of the movement now known as, The Re-Mind Project.

2010

2012

Ezio incorporates the personality and spirit of Zachary Burke into the character of Dennis.  Zachary faces the challenges of Autism and is on the bipolar spectrum.

Today, Jerry and Zachary have a growing friendship, inspired by the meeting of their characters in the screenplay.

2013 - July 10th

Jerry nearly passes away from the adverse effects of stigma, prompting Ezio to begin filming and capturing Jerry more intently.

Returning home, Jerry and Ezio continue their quest to finish his film in time for the world to see Jerry see it.

2016

Ezio discovers new, validating evidence of Jerry’s unfortunate circumstances in 1985.  He incorporates the new events into the screenplay.

An 8-year writing journey leads to a finished screenplay.
